ISKO I-SKOOL™ reaches the Final Award Ceremony of its 6th edition.
The finalists of the Denim Design Award will gather with tutors, partners and the entire ISKO I-SKOOL™ team for a unique two-day event in the wonderful Glashaus Arena in Berlin on July 2nd and 3rd. One of Berlin’s most beautiful historical locations – facing the canal Flutgraben and the river Spree – is the designated location for the Final Award Ceremony.
Students and Denim Design Professionals in the early stages of their careers – the latter having been involved in the program for the first time ever – will join partners and tutors from all over the world for this special occasion, marking the conclusion of the Denim Design Award path.
On the first day, the Denim Design Award Jury will evaluate the 17 shortlisted projects through a dedicated session, where all participants will present their garments, produced over the past months with the support of their tutors under the supervision and guidance of the Creative Room™ and ISKO I-SKOOL™ teams.
For this edition’s final evaluation, the Jury will be divided into two groups: the “Creative Jury” will evaluate the style and fashion aspects, whereas the “Technical Jury” will will focus on the technical features of the final outputs, for a total of 8 different awards.
Inspired by this year’s creative theme “New Denim Codes”, participants were required to develop a complete capsule collection selecting some of the most advanced ISKO™ denim fabrics and patented technologies. Additionally, this year’s edition had the finalists work on two final outputs:
- Industry-driven Denim Garments: designed to be developed industrially following the complete process from cutting, sewing, stitching to laundry washing
- Denim Showpieces: handmade, artistic custom garments or accessories, freely created by the designers with ISKO™ fabrics
On the evening of July 3rd, the Final Award Ceremony will take place in the beautiful setting of the Glashaus Arena. This exciting experience will see the winners awarded in front of a wide audience of fashion experts, journalists, influencers, partners and denim heads. To top off the evening there will be a final catwalk displaying all the outfits created by the young designers.
